WHAT IS SMART METERING?
Smart metering involves using electronic devices to measure and record the real-time consumption of resources such as electricity, gas, water, and more. These smart meters transmit this data to both the utility provider and the consumer. This technology allows for more accurate billing, improved management of energy demand and supply, and greater awareness of usage patterns. Additionally, smart meters enable two-way communication between the utility company and the consumer, which can assist with outage detection, load control, and customized pricing plans.
HOW DO VISTA HOSPITALITY SMART METERING SOLUTIONS WORK?
Vista smart building sensors collect environmental data such as CO2 levels, occupancy, lighting, and air quality. This data is sent to a LoRaWAN® gateway, which forwards it to the network server. The server then sends the data to an application or E-Ink display for users to visualize and analyze.
Vista LoRaWAN® gateways also gather data from smart meters in maintenance rooms or across the city. These gateways receive, decrypt, and transfer the data to the network server, which then distributes it to the application server. Commands from applications are converted into signals for field sensors. The data can be displayed on both stationary and mobile devices for easy visualization and reporting.
